Greetings Visitor,
First of all, welcome to the Qu-league website.
I, “qu-8”
fleet-commander of the Qu’s is honoured to give you some information about
this league.
The reason for starting Qu-league was to become a real wolfpack. Acting like
a wolfpack is working together to hunt convoys down.
In real life it worked as follows. One sub found a convoy, he followed
it as far as he could, he gave the position of the convoy to BDU (command
centre) via an enigma code. BDU in turn would relay this information to other
subs that were placed in the neighbourhood prior to setting sail from home
port. The goal being to attack the convoy all at the same time. In the games,
we are lucky that we do not have to wait for coming together. In a game it is
normal that we loose some subs in combat. That’s why we decided to make our
scoring different than the other clans. When a convoy has been shot down by a
wolfpack, we will divide the complete tonnage to all the working subs, even when
they were killed. Our primary objective is “Better to destroy little than to
damage much’’. That’s why acting together is very important. And remember,
even when we play as realistic as possible, we try to have some fun during
the game. We certainly do and appreciate some good jokes.
Like I saw in the UBI-Lobby, many people asking about the meaning of our
clan. In the history, you will find the existence of it, here I will explain
our names.
My name is Qu-8 and it is chosen because, when u pronounced in Dutch it will
sound like my family name… Cuyt (cu = Qu and yt=8). I have 2 brothers and of
course they use the Qu, like all members, but when you see a number after the
Qu, they are relatives or founders of Qu-league. The active executives for
this moment are marked in red
QU-1: He is our Father, our admiral. A non playing member. He is the
highest in rank in the Qu-league. It is him that will give the medals and the
promotions. One tip: be nice to him, have respect for this old, but young at
heart veteran.
QU-3: He is a starting founder, a real Englishman, our third officer. He
will replace other officers and the fleet-commander by injuries or illness. A
member of the executive.
QU-7: He is second officer and one of the founders of
Qu-league. He is webmaster of our site and he is our administrator. He is
also my oldest brother (what a shame). He stopped being an executive
in Oktober 2005, and stopped playing the game in 2006.
QU-8: Yes, that’s me, nice bloke. Fleet-commander and founder of the
Qu-league. If you have problems or questions, you may ask me. I will try to
solve them, but remember I am not a magician.
Fleet Commander of Qu’s.
QU-9: He is my youngest brother. He is chef of our catering.
Now we are sure to have good food for our crew. He stopped playing the game.
QU-10: He is my youngest brothers friend. He is responsible for
the crew of the mess. So we are sure of good the service during the meals. He
also stopped playing the game.
QU-U: He is our tactical, and historical officer. He will give advice
during or at the beginning of a mission. If you have got tactical
propositions to make, contact him, he will report them to all members. A
member of the executive.
QU-T: One of the founding members of the Qu-league. My greatest help in
the beginning when I started to play this game. He became an executive
member in October 2005.
Qu-W: He is a close neighbour of me, and a great help for solving
small problems I have with the site and etc.... He became my newest executive
member. (He stopped playing the game in 2006)
QU-C: ( Aka; Colinuk) He was of my playing mates and a full
member of the Qu league. He died suddenly on July 24 2004 . The call
sign QU- C will not be used again. May God bless him.

History:
It all started a while ago when I wanted to play on-line games with my
brother. We were searching and searching and finally we found it.
I had bought destroyer command and my bro was in possession of silenthunter2.
But a few questions did rise up… how does it work? I went to the UBI-room as
a newbie “Qu-8”
and I met Tulix, Ultra, and Nigjay. They helped me a lot.
They told me what was needed to for playing online.
I did report this to my eldest brother (Qu-7).
He did all the installs that were needed and we played a few games. Because
my bro could not play during the week, I searched for others to play. So I
played with Tulix, Colinuk and Nigjay.
I would also chat with Ultra, who was a DSK member.
I tried to become a member of DSK and WPL but it was much to complicated to
join. And so it happened when Tulix and I were making some jokes about DSK, I
mentioned to start a clan on my own. Tulix said that he would change his name
into “Qu-T”. I also told my bro about it. He changed his name into “Qu-7”. Something my bro and I didn’t know, was
that our youngest brother had bought the same game. I met him on the net,
told him whole the story and he changed his name into Qu-9, his friend used
the name of Qu-10. So it happened, the existence of Qu-league was a fact.
During the time, more of our members left the clan. The older members
became XO’s. We survived the war
between DSK and ADV. They were gone, disappeared in the silence. But the
Qu-league, even with little members was still there. A few old members from
DSK and ADV joined our clan. We are surtainly one of the oldest clans who are
still playing “Destroyer Cammand and Silent hunter II”. In the beginning of
2006 new naval sims came out, and we started to play “Silent Hunter III” and
we will also give a try at “ Dangerous Waters”.
In the mean time I also joined a air squad, called NORAD. When NORAD
wanted to expend, the asked me to be their leader for their naval section.
We agreed. In October 2006 the
QU-LEAGUE became the naval division
for NORAD. There was not much changing for the Qu-members. When they
are playing naval games they will use there given Qu-name, when they join a
NORAD game they have the NORAD call sign in front of the Qu-name. We hope
that our clan will expend with the merging.
And now just hoping this league will become the big brother of other naval
clans.
Qu-8,
Fleet-Commander of the Qu-League
Captain of the Qu-8
